Kill em all....

Let god sort them out. This would be a variation of the Thomas Jefferson quotation...
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
If we could have a reset without bloodshed, conservative citizens would be pleased. I would include all of the judges. Doesn't matter, it cannot happen.
This I find amusing "65% Favor Getting Rid of Entire Congress and Starting Over". Republicans voters on Republican politicians shows that only about 3 of 5 approve of their own party representation. No doubt that if they pussy foot around in 2011 voter anger will boomerang. What the Republican hierarchy has in its favor is taht he ecomomy is bound to improve by the next election, they will probably get credit for something that they will have little effect on.

Candidate Comparison for Georgia's District 13 Race

It surprises me that David Scott has improved from the C- that he recently had.  Well, it just goes to show you that a leopard can change his spots, at least a few of them.  Please vote against David Scott for Georgia's 13th District Representative.

Dear activists,

The grid below shows a comparison of the candidates and their position on a variety of immigration issues. The ratings are based on responses to our immigration-reduction survey, indicated by the "Yes" and "No" icons, or statements made by the candidates themselves, indicated by colored circles.

The ratings for candidates who did not complete our survey may not represent the candidate's entire position on immigration, but it is what we have been able to determine through their campaign website and news reports. If a candidate on the grid has not completed our immigration-reduction survey, you can download a copy from our website and strongly urge them to complete it -- http://www.numbersusa.com/content/publications/letters-endorsements/candidate-surveys.html.

NumbersUSA DOES NOT endorse candidates, but we do tell you who has the best immigration platform based on the information we've been able to gather. Candidates labeled as True Reformers have completed our immigration-reduction survey and agree with NumbersUSA on most of our key issues. An incumbent can earn the True Reform label if they have sponsored our "5 Great Immigration-Reduction Bills" and have a career grade of an A.

Congressional Favorability Ratings

Rasmussen quantifies what the rest of us sense. Nancy Pelosi is not thought of with high regard.
The ratios come out about 3:1 whether you are looking at very favorable to very unfavorable or just favorable to unfavorable.
Everybody knows that this woman has been cobbling spending bills, including ObamCare, based pet projects of her Democratic bretheren. She asked that we trust her, the truthes would become evident. But the truthes were already evident, the naysayers were right, it was crap.

Frank Caprio Obama Endorsement Comment: Rhode Island Governor Mess

WisePolitics.com carries this article describing some dissention in the Democratic ranks. The current governor is running as an independent because he cozied up to the President and now the Democratic candidate is irritated about the manner in which President Obama decided to visit the smallest state in New England.

Candidate Frank Caprio is quoted.....
“Now he’s coming into Rhode Island treating us like an ATM machine ” and adding that he can “take his endorsement and really shove it.”
Now I am guessing that Mr Caprio is from the northern part of the state, around Providence. A tough place with tough people, no doubt he meant what he said.

Road Work

In Spain they are making the prostitutes wear reflective vests.
Now you'll see those folks wearing them without anything under.
From time to time I have to drive Fulton Industrial after dark, you really have to pay attention to the road, you'll see these shadows of women walking across the street anywhere they like.
In Atlanta, they would not where the vest because it would make them easier to spot by the police.

Dumping is Not Cool

Normally I am kind of a free trader, but trade dumping unfairly restricts the potential for those that play by the rules.  No doubt the China will retaliate, they have no problem using every advantage they have available.  They, the Chinese, to me, allow their businesses to be aggressive.  The United States should act more like the Chinese, but today's executive and the past couple for that matter seem to be too embarrassed be forceful.

This has been going on for years and was too late for a lot of people but maybe it will give the US paper industry a shot in the arm.

International Trade Commission Rules in Favor of U.S. Papermakers
Oct. 25, 2010 (Press Release) - Appleton Coated LLC, NewPage Corporation, and Sappi Fine Paper North America — together with the United Steelworkers (USW) — welcomed the U.S. International Trade Commission's (ITC) finding [on Friday, Oct. 22] that imports of coated paper from China and Indonesia are causing material injury to U.S. producers and workers. That finding was based on a 6-0 vote by the bipartisan commission.

The ITC decision clears the way for the U.S. Department of Commerce to impose antidumping and countervailing duties on imports of coated free sheet paper from these countries. On Sept. 21, 2010, the agency issued its final determination citing imports from China and Indonesia as being both dumped and subsidized by significant margins.

The Commerce Dept. found that producers or exporters dumped coated paper in the United States at margins of 7.6-135.83 percent for China, and 20.13 percent for Indonesia. The agency also determined that these producers or exporters received countervailable subsidies ranging from 17.64-178.03 percent for China, and 17.94 percent for Indonesia.

Coated paper covered by the cases is used in many high-end commercial printing applications, including annual reports, coffee table books, magazines and brochures.

"NewPage is very pleased with the International Trade Commission's finding on injury," said George Martin, president and chief executive officer of NewPage. "[the Oct. 22] determination underscores the effects of unfair competition on the U.S. industry, where government subsidies and dumping have suppressed prices and forced mill closures," said Martin. "The decision will allow the Commerce Department to impose duties to offset the significant levels of dumping and government subsidies that were found to exist last month." Martin added, "We will remain committed to this effort and it's important to remember that we are willing to compete with anyone in the world as long as we have a level playing field."

"We've waited a long time for this decision, which will help restore a competitive market," added Mark Gardner, president and chief executive officer of Sappi Fine Paper North America. "For far too long, some of our competitors have been able to get away with unfair and illegal dumping and subsidies to sell their products. The ITC's decision puts us one step closer to being able to compete fairly based on the quality of our products, the investments we make in our mills, equipment and people, and the sustainable manufacturing and procurement practices we implement and pursue," said Gardner.

Sandra Van Ert, president and chief executive officer of Appleton Coated LLC said, "The ITC finding of injury is testimony to what we, our workers and the communities in which we operate have been experiencing for far too long. In this instance, our trade laws have worked and will help restore not only legal competition in the marketplace, but the faith of our employees that work hard, play by the rules and only want a fair chance to compete."

Jon Geenen, USW international vice president, declared, "[the Oct. 22] decision shows that these predatory trade practices by the Chinese and Indonesian exporters are unfair, illegal and injurious to our employers and their workers. We will not ignore the efforts of our foreign competitors who want to violate international trade standards to succeed at the expense of our union members' jobs — that's a fight we'll never back away from."

Once the final antidumping and countervailing duty orders are published in the Federal Register, the U.S. Customs agency will begin applying duties on Chinese and Indonesian coated paper imports.

The companies and the USW filed unfair trade cases Sept. 23, 2009 with the Commerce Dept. and the ITC, alleging that certain coated paper from China and Indonesia had been dumped and subsidized, resulting in injury to the domestic industry and its employees.

The domestic industry has experienced capacity reductions and under-utilization resulting in the loss of jobs in communities all across the country. The petitions show that unfairly traded imports from China and Indonesia are a significant contributor to that underutilization of capacity, mill closures and resultant job loss.

The three companies employ about 6,000 production workers represented by the USW at 20 paper mills operating in seven states.

Should I Feel Assured?

Today's AJC carries the Associated Press report on how companies are considering the possibility of backing away from the health care benefit. Something the White House does not acknowledge or accept as a possibility.
Companies do what is best for their economic interests, if paying the fines and risking employees departures is judged as the best path, they will do it. The government would have to pass a law making it illegal for companies to desist. You know, kind of like how Congress is floating the ideas of a moratorium on foreclosures. As usual, they have imposed their ideas over valid warnings and will punish those that their to protect their interests.
Copied from the article....
"The absolute certainty about the Affordable Care Act is that for many, many employers who cover millions of people, it increases the incentives for them to offer coverage," said Jason Furman, an economic adviser to President Barack Obama.
These folks are ignorant, and I do not mean that in a name calling way, they are ignorant of the potential effects of their actions. Those effects are (borrowing from Reverend Wright, and before him Malcolm X) coming home to roost.

How Do You Define Handsome?

A test at an Durham City High school in North Carolina, required students to use "handsome" in a sentence.

The girl named Lateshia says "Sometimes when I be suckin' Jamal's snake, my jaw gets sore and I hafta use my handsome."

The Ten Cannots

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot help little men by tearing down big men.
You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.
You cannot build character and courage by destroying men's initiative and independence.
And you cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they can and should do for themselves.

Fifty Years Ago Today

In 1960, the United States government places began its embargo on Communist Cuba.
Fifty years later, Cuba is at best unchanged, at worst poorer.
Fifty years later, our government are looking for ways to let Cuba off the hook for doing things like point nuclear missiles at our country ninety miles off the coast.
Cuba is the North Korea of the west.

Bill Maher Uses Brett Favre's Penis Sexting To Bash Sarah Palin and White Men

Bill Maher has had his funny moments, but in the end he is a bitter man who enjoys impaling large groups of people on his comedic pike. The host of HBO's Real Time who has before blamed the 911 attacks on the United States and regularly uses his pulpit to take his homeland down a notch. NewsBusters reports...
"how pathetic and clueless white American males have become because the kind of guy who thinks there are women out there who just cold want to see your c--k is the same kind of guy who thinks Sarah Palin is swell and tax cuts pay for themselves."
So we have Brett Farve, he does something everybody knows is wrong. This comedian sees that as an opportunity to slam men that have a different political opinion. On the surface, it seems that Maher has irrational anger issues.
I have said many times that psyches of liberals are based in their insecurity. Maher strikes me a perfect example of an insecure male, a little unattractive middle aged man without enough talent to hold a major network show. Maher has the political insight equivalent to Chris Mathews, at best emotionally shrill, at worst mean and hateful.
Brett Farve deserves abuse, but there is no logical connection between improper sexual advances and the political viewpoint of a prominent woman. Unless of course this insecure man has an unresolved attraction to emotionally secure and attractive Sarah Palin. Why not, she is everything he can't be.

Except Nobody Want Him Coming Up

Senate majority leader Harry Reid recently compared our President to the Chilean miners. MSNBC reports....
OK, it's election time and candidates are saying things that are intended more to drum up excitement than make policy points.  The people interested in policy have made up their minds, all that is left are the mindless lemmings.
"It was like the Chilean miners, but he, being the man he is, rolled up his sleeves and said 'I am going to get us out of this hole,'" Reid said at an "Early Vote GOTV" event.

The reality is more like, the citizens are in a hole a hole that was created before Obama became President. Then the government in a rush to appear active coupled with a desire to expand federal power, dug that hole deeper.   Debt accumulation has accelerated and economic recovery thwarted. The President in his anti-colonial personage is not interested in strengthening the economy, he is interested in redistributing both wealth and power on an international scale.  National discomfort fits with our President's outlook on America, increasing taxes on productive segments of the economy, increasing benefits for unproductive society and eviscerating boundaries of nationality.  He's not in the hole we're in the hole, right where he wants us. Less than exceptional.

Candidate Comparison for Georgia's District 13 Race

Sent to me by NumbersUSA.com, a good example of what you get when districts are gerrymandered. As you drive around the south east section of Cobb County and near the Atlanta airport, the sign clusters shift from Crane to Scott to Crane. Looking at the yards and the people in the homes, this is largely a black white demarcation. I get it, if I was black I would would be inclined to vote with my race as well.
A coworker was lamenting that the horseshoe shaped district we live in leaves certain quadrants of the region ignored.   I told him that it is a good thing to be in the minority, if we can bring down David Scott we will have done a more significant deed than voting for a man like Phil Gringrey whom as a fellow Tech man and MD has a record perfectly aligned with my beliefs.
In the past I've been represented by men like Newt Gingrich, it was easy to enjoy the representation.  Now I get to feel like a subversive, it's fun.
I thought Honeycutt was better candidate and suspect that Democrats primary crossed to force Republicans in with the weaker candidate.  A legal choice that I've made before, it give the minority party the power to sway votes, e.g, Cythia McKinney.  But now, Crane looks a whole lot better than the stubby little guy that runs to East Point to brag about ObamaCare.
