More MoveOn

Every day I receive an email from these folks proclaiming how one of the left's soldiers has skewered a Republican.
Chris Mathews, who is no favorite of mine, hardly makes a a point that deserves to be labelled as...

I would suggest that he comes off as a shrill attack boy for the Democrat's position. His point his made so poorly that in the end he resorts to calling up the memory of Teddy Roosevelt and John Sununnu.

This is a person that that is supposed to be a newsman, he is not, he is partisan.

Response From Congressman David Scott

Thank you for contacting me regarding S. 2205, the Second Amendment Sovereignty Act of 2012. I appreciate your thoughts on this issue. I doubt it but it was a nice sentiment.
In the past decade, the United Nations (UN) has attempted multiple times to implement comprehensive treaties or programs to limit illicit arms trade internationally. While the UN has focused significant attention on small arms control, most notably with the 2001 Programme of Action on Small arms, however, none of these efforts have achieved domestic support from the United States. United Nations Arms Control treaties have been proposed to limit the sale, manufacture, and use of illicit small arms internationally. I strongly believe that illicit small arms undermine national and regional security in areas of national interest to the United States such as the Middle East and North Africa as well as Latin America . Proponents of UN regulation of illicit arms assert that these weapons present a direct threat to U.S. personnel abroad I see, its for our own best interest, that is often the broadly accepted attitude at the UN, b*** ***t as well as civilians in other countries. When considering arms control initiatives from a U.S. perspective it is important to balance concerns of violence against U.S. military personnel and citizens abroad and infringement of Second Amendment rights at home.  It is sometimes hard to gauge political statements, but to me that is suggesting that a Constitutionally guaranteed right is subject to international need to limit violence.  Can I ask, how does the right to bear arms affect the unruliness of Muslims in the middle east.
The Second Amendment Sovereignty Act of 2012, S. 2205, seeks to preserve U.S. sovereignty in the protection of Second Amendment rights. The bill would ensure that Congress would not support a UN Arms Control treaty and that no U.S. funds would be expended in connection with the proposed treaty to limit the domestic manufacture, use, transfer, or purchase of small arms and related materials. Senator Moran introduced S. 2205 on March 19, 2012 and it has been referred to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. A similar bill , H.R. 5846, was introduced to the House of Representatives on May 18, 2012 and was referred to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. While I am not a member of this committee, let me emphasize that I will keep your thoughts on this issue in mind as the House continues with its legislative activities.  Thanks for promising to keep my right to bear arms in mind.
On July 27th , the UN will convene to discuss a new comprehensive treaty to control the movement of small arms internationally. According to Amnesty International, and other supporters of the proposed arms control treaty, roughly 500,000 people are killed worldwide each year by illicit small arms Small arms are only one of the tools used by the sick masochistic dirt bag in third world countries, there certainly have been other effective means like machetes, pipe bombs, poison and starvation. Small arms don't kill people, people kill people.. Critics of the proposed comprehensive treaty argue that monitoring regulations should be different for each country given individual histories of human rights abuses and arms control regulations. Although it is currently unclear whether or not the treaty will pass, you will be pleased to know that such a treaty would have to be ratified in the United States Senate for its regulations to take effect domestically. Ratification by Congress ensures that American sovereignty cannot be overshadowed by UN treaties, especially those that might infringe upon Constitutional rights of American citizens.
Let me emphasize that a careful balance between Second Amendment rights and safety in gun ownership is necessary in crafting any policy toward gun control, and I am sensitive to both sides of the issue. Promising to be sensitive to the international desire to create a submissive American homeland.  I also strongly believe that when considering any international arms control measures, United States sovereignty and rights of American citizens must remain primary considerations. Please rest assured, I will keep your views in mind as the House continues with its legislative agenda. I am glad you did not get a chance to show me your sensitivity.  I am also glad the Hillary Clinton, who was all in for this b*** ***t, has made herself an impossibility replacement for that dip s*** Joe Biden.
Again, I thank you for sharing your views with me. I hope you will continue to give me the benefit of your opinion in the future. In addition, I encourage you to visit my web site at http://davidscott.house.gov, where you can view the latest news and obtain information on issues and legislation that is important to you. You can also sign up for my electronic newsletter, and receive periodic updates on my activities as your representative in Washington . Thank you again for contacting me, and I look forward to continuing to serve you.
Sincerely,
David Scott

  5. Softball announcer: "If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing again."
  6. Basketball analyst : "He dribbles a lot and the opposition doesn't like it. In fact you can see it all over their faces."

Southern Things

American born, Southern by the Grace of God
Southerners know their summer weather report: Humidity and heat Humidity and more heat Humidity and endless heat
Southerners know their vacation spots: The beach The rivuh The crick
Southerners know everybody's first name: Honey Darlin' Shuga Southerners know the movies that speak to their hearts: Fried Green Tomatoes Driving Miss Daisy Steel Magnolias Gone With The Wind
Southerners know their religions: Bapdiss Methdiss Football
Southerners know their cities dripping with Southern charm: Chawl'stn S'vanah Foat Wuth N'awlins Addlanna
Southerners know their elegant gentlemen: Men in uniform Men in tuxedos Rhett Butler
Southern girls know their prime real estate: The Mall The Country Club The Beauty Salon
Southern girls know the 3 deadly sins: Having bad hair and nails Having bad manners Cooking bad food
Only a Southerner knows the difference between a hissie fit and a conniption fit, and that you don't "HAVE" them, you "PITCH" them.
Only a Southerner knows how many fish, collard greens, turnip greens, peas, beans, etc., make up "a mess."
Only a Southerner can show or point out to you the general direction of "yonder."
Only a Southerner knows exactly how long "directly" is, as in: "Going to town, be back directly." Even
Southern babies know that "Gimme some sugar" is not a request for the white, granular, sweet substance that sits in a pretty little bowl in the middle of the table.
All Southerners know exactly when "by and by" is. They might not use the term, but they know the concept well.
Only a Southerner knows instinctively that the best gesture of solace for a neighbor who's got trouble is a plate of hot fried chicken and a big bowl of cold potato salad. If the neighbor's trouble is a real crisis, they also know to add a large banana puddin'!
Only Southerners grow up knowing the difference between "right near" and "a right far piece." They also know that"just down the road" can be 1 mile or 20.
Only a Southerner both knows and understands the difference between a redneck, a good ol' boy, and po' white trash.
No true Southerner would ever assume that the car with the flashing turn signal is actually going to make a turn.
A Southerner knows that "fixin" can be used as a noun, a verb, or an adverb.
Only Southerners make friends while standing in lines, ... and when we're "in line,"... we talk to everybody!
Put 100 Southerners in a room and half of them will discover they're related, even if only by marriage.
In the South, y'all is singular, and y'all is plural.
Southerners know grits come from corn and how to eat them.
Every Southerner knows that tomatoes with eggs, bacon, grits, and coffee are perfectly wonderful; that red eye gravy is also a breakfast food; that scrambled eggs just ain't right without Tabasco, and that fried green tomatoes are not a breakfast food.
When you hear someone say, "Well, I caught myself lookin'," you know you are in the presence of a genuine Southerner!
Only true Southerners say "sweet tea" and "sweet milk." Sweet tea indicates the need for sugar and lots of it -- we do not like our tea unsweetened. "Sweet milk" means you don't want buttermilk.
And a true Southerner knows you don't scream obscenities at little old ladies who drive 30 MPH on the freeway. You just say,"Bless her sweet little heart"... and go your own way.
To those of you who are still a little embarrassed by your Southernness: Take two tent revivals and a dose of sausage gravy and call me in the morning. Bless your little heart!
And to those of you who are still having a hard time understanding all this Southern stuff....bless your hearts, I hear they're fixin' to have classes on Southernness as a second language!
Southern girls know men may come and go, but friends are fah-evah! There ain't no magazine named "Northern Living" for good reason. There ain't nobody interested in livin' up north, nobody would buy the magazine!

Offensive SOB

That would be Joe Biden.
Listen to the following clip to hear "our" vice-president tell an audience that, if elected, the Romney ticket will put them back in chains.
Is it me, or is every blurb you hear from the Democrats these days is a variant of offensive slander.
When Romney announced that Ryan was going to be on the ticket he immediately added an in-depth statement of budget values and goals. The Democrats have no counter punch except that isn't hyperbole. They look lost and desperate. Good!
