Pixie Sticks

This is one of the better cartoons I've seen in the last month or so.

Found on Friday's Patriot Post newsletter.

I Got Rent For The Night

Just like Eddie Murphy in the movie "48 Hours".
Today I receive an email from the White House that links an application that allows users to see how many tanks of gas or months rent can be paid for with the proceeds of proposed increase in the minimum wage. What ever the value, the Democrats are trying to create an issue that will divert attention away from the shitty leadership of the President and the Senate Majority Leader.  I hope it does not succeed but recent history says otherwise.
The depth of explanation on the maps is pretty low, for instance is the raise alone enough to purchase 15 tanks of gas or 7 month rent, or is the full take home pay enough to cover those expenditures.
What I will say about all of it is that they are trying to make it look like the Democrats are going to force employers to give workers more money for the same work which amounts to more free stuff.  This would be a good deal for the minimum wage type employees because the free money is not encumbered by the restrictions of say, an EBT card, the net money can be converted immediately into things like lottery tickets, cold beer and malt liquor.
I was surprised that the state of Georgia has a minimum wage lower than the national rate.
Like the Affordable Care Act, unintended consequences of an unprecedented rate increase will be significant, there will be less jobs available.

Unedited Tape of Bundy Emerges

It seems that some of the things said that were labelled as deplorable were not portrayed in the context of the subject being discussed.  Imagine that the New York Times creating conservative hatred where it does not exist. Watched the reaction on FOX last night, first with Bill O'Reilly then Megan Kelly. O'Reilly seemed to relish the fact that he had made some sort of prediction that Cliven Bundy was a flawed hero. Megan Kelly and guest concentrated on the fact the issue was really more about government encroachment on citizens land rights.
Unedited Tape of Bundy Emerges, Sheds Light on 'Racist' Remarks | Truth Revolt
You just watch, disproved as a racist or not, the progressives will not let up on applying the racist label on Cliven Bundy.  By the way, does it not feel like Harry Reid is in this mess up to his neck, what's his motivation. I've  read the BLM report (more like scanned) on the solar farm proposed, but there was little underlying evidence there of what companies will be building and maintaining the farm.   One thing in the report was interesting, it seemed to entirely dismiss the notion that a grazing ban would create a problem, in that I understood that the problem was being handled outside of normal channels.

Irrational fears

One of my trade magazines sends email additions.  Being business based tends to set them on a different phase the normal media outlets and for that matter the academic papers.
A close look at Fukushima is instructive. The tsunami killed about 16,000 people; radiation from the reactor has killed none.

Glock Blocking

This is the response received from the Senator who eventually hopes to be re-elected.  Snopes says that the treaty is not an end run around the Constitution, but I seriously doubt that President Bush would have squelched it for no good reason. What I think is that the treaty is aimed at terrorism, but the executive branch sees it as a means of applying additional pressure on states to enact laws that dovetail their objective, disarming citizens. All that said, a resolution written in support of the Constitution seems a bit over the top.
Dear Mr. Voterman:
Thank you for contacting me regarding the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. I appreciate your thoughts and am grateful  for the opportunity to respond.  I apologize for my delayed response.  I have received an unusually high volume of letters in the last few months and that is the reason for the delay.  Please know that your opinion was taken into consideration at the time your letter was received.
As you are aware, the United Nations approved the Arms Trade Treaty on April 2, 2013, by a vote of 154 to 3. On September 25, 2013, Secretary of State John Kerry signed the treaty on behalf of the United States.  The Obama administration and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton supported the drafting of a U.N. Arms Trade Treaty that is designed to curb hostilities in areas of the world experiencing political instability, and supporters of this treaty believe that an international effort to reduce small arms will help achieve this goal. The United States supported the adoption of the treaty. Syria, North Korea, and Iran opposed it, and another 23 countries, including Russia, abstained from the vote. The treaty will only have the force of law in this country if it is ratified by two-thirds of the U.S. Senate.
Under former President George W. Bush, the United States was the only nation to oppose a 2006 resolution to create an international treaty on the sale of small arms and light weapons. I have joined my Senate colleagues in sending numerous letters to the Administration stating my opposition to this treaty since I believe it violates our Second Amendment rights. Additionally, I cosponsored S.2205, the Second Amendment Sovereignty Act of 2012 , during the 112th Congress. The bill stated that U.S. sovereignty and the constitutionally protected freedoms of American gun owners must be upheld and cannot be undermined by the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty. While the bill was never considered on the floor of the Senate, it was important to express our concerns about potential violations of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.   In March 2013, I supported Sen. Inhofe's (R-Okla.) Amendment 139 to S.Con.Res.8, the Senate Budget Resolution for fiscal year 2014, which would prevent the  United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty .  This amendment was agreed to by a vote of 53-46-1.  However, because S.Con.Res.8 has not been passed by the House and signed by the President, this amendment does not have the force of law.
While I believe it is important to reduce the availability of small arms to terrorist organizations and groups that undermine regional political instability, I would never support any international  agreement that would undermine the Second Amendment rights of American citizens in any way. If the Senate considers ratification of a U.N. Arms Trade Treaty, I will seek to address these concerns. In the meantime, I will continue to explore ways to reduce international violence without undermining our own Constitution.
Thank you again for contacting me.  Please visit my webpage at

Johnny Isakson

Just Two Guys In the Back Seat

Fucking around, playing grab ass, having some beers, cruising the babes.

Oh by the way, the creep, the one on the right, wants to be the next president.

No Rules, No Problem

Comments made by the author, which is a exuberant description, are often inappropriate....

Congress.org presents: MEGAVOTE April 14, 2014, for Georgia's 13th Congressional District:

Recent Congressional Votes
·         Senate: Unemployment Benefits Extension  Passage
·         Senate: Equal Pay  Cloture
·         House: Budget Resolution  Passage

Both the House and Senate are in recess until the week of April 28.
I don’t have any problem with that, spend the next six months campaigning, leave us alone.

Recent Senate Votes:

Unemployment Benefits Extension  Passage Vote Passed (59-38, 3 Not Voting)
Senators passed a bill on Monday that, as amended, would extend unemployment benefits through May 31, 2014.
Sen. Saxby Chambliss voted NO
Sen. Johnny Isakson voted NO
Total crap, it is not governments place to guarantee everyone an income.

Equal Pay Cloture Vote Rejected (53-44, 3 Not Voting)
The Senate failed to invoke cloture on a bill that would amend the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (PL 75-718), requiring employers to demonstrate that wage gaps between men and women with similar qualifications in similar jobs have a business justification. The bill would also prohibit employers from retaliating against employees seeking salary information to investigate gender discrimination in wages.
Sen. Saxby Chambliss voted NO
Sen. Johnny Isakson voted NO
Awesome, a rare thing when politicians reject the opportunity to give a selected segment of the population a special status. Soon everyone will have a special status, for me it is already set, a man who pays lots of taxes and someone my representative ignores.

Recent House Votes:

Budget Resolution  Passage Vote Passed (2019-205, 8 Not Voting)
On Thursday, the House adopted a concurrent resolution that would provide $2.842 trillion to fund the federal government in fiscal 2015. The resolution assumes $5.1 trillion in spending reductions over 10 years and reductions in personal and corporate tax rates.
Rep. David Scott voted NO
The number 2019 might be bloated. I double checked the number on the email I received, and it did say 2019 voted for the resolution.  Maybe the Democrats should have argued for proof of identification at roll call.  My man, little David Scott, graduate of Penn's Wharton Business School, voted against a budget that the Senate will table, possibly because Reid is too busy railing against false villains, more likely because the Democratic leadership in the Senate and executive have no desire to be encumbered by things so trivial as balancing spending with income.  No rules and no complaints stick.  By the way the real count was 219-205 for passage. Not that it matters.
Twelve Republicans voted against the resolution, four from Georgia, three of which are running for the upcoming Chambliss Senate seat, Paul Broun, Phil Gingrey, Jack Kingston (Ga.), Austin Scott (Ga.),

If You Think the Sky is Falling, Check out the Prophecies of the 1970s

A man, much smarter than me, suggests people look to history to develop an assessment on the quality of news media clairvoyance,
If You Think the Sky is Falling, Check out the Prophecies of the 1970s
We should all remember that published writers, reporters, novelists, professors, whatever, write what people will pay for. That money influences their position, and often leads to bandwagon styled news cycles.

Native French under Attack in Muslim Areas

I find it humorous that the the French, who are so protective of their culture and disdainful of American are rejected by the same people that they have welcomed into their beloved society. People are already making comparisons to Lebanon, Beirut was a beautiful place in the 1960's and the same thing could happen in Paris if they don't get the stuff under control

The progressive French government is treating this like an opportunity to increase their base. They will have a rude awaking when the faction becomes to powerful to control or ignore.  Here in the United States, excepting California, the Mexican immigrants are not generally violent within their communities any more so than another economically depressed community.

Sibelius To Deliver Planned Parenthood Funds To Ukraine

Why not, she's already PP's benefactor, willing to break the law on their behalf. The secretary announced she was stepping down, only 5 years too late. She never should have been confirmed. She should be in Kansas state prison for obstructing justice.

Congress.org presents:  MEGAVOTE April 7, 2014, for Georgia's 13th Congressional District.
Recent Congressional Votes
  • Senate: Unemployment Benefits  Cloture
  • House: Ukraine Aid  Passage
  • House: Employee Hours Rules  Passage
Upcoming Congressional Bills
  • Senate: Unemployment Benefits
  • House: Budget resolution
Recent Senate Votes:
Unemployment Benefits  Cloture Vote Agreed to (61-35, 4 Not Voting)
Senators voted to invoke cloture on an amended bill that would extended eligibility for long-term unemployment benefits through May 31, 2014.
Sen. Saxby Chambliss voted NO
Sen. Johnny Isakson voted NO
Meaningless as they are I do think Georgia's Senators voted correctly on this subject. It is well known that the number of persons searching for employment is shrinking. If politicians continually move the bar toward to infinity, where is the motivation for those inclined to skate?

Recent House Votes:
Ukraine Aid  Passage Vote Passed (378-34, 19 Not Voting)
On Tuesday, the House agreed to concur with a Senate amendment and pass a package of $150 million in aid and loan guarantees to the Ukrainian government. The vote required a two-thirds majority under the suspension of House rules. President Obama signed the bill into law on April 3.
Rep. David Scott voted YES
The description that comes to mind is EUNUCH, a gaggle of EUNUCHS strutting around the Congressional floor thumping their chest for having helped the the oppressed of eastern Europe. The money, $150,000,000.00 is like a drop of rain in the ocean, it is not significant help, it is risk averse.

Employee Hours Rules Passage Vote Passed (248-179, 4 Not Voting)
House members voted on Thursday to change the number of hours employees must work to qualify for mandatory employer coverage under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The law would define full-time employees as those working 40 hours a week, ten more hours than as defined under current law.
Rep. David Scott voted NO
On this one I think the result is wrong and the vote of my Representative is wrong. The politicians in control today and going back to under President Bush have been pushing to call full time a 32 hour work week.  The vote itself is probably inconsequential, the Senate and the President will squelch it.

Upcoming Votes:
Unemployment Benefits - H.R.3979
Senators will consider passage of an extension of long-term unemployment benefits tonight.
Said it up above, it is time for some politicians to insist people get off their asses. Hell they do not have to do anything, unemployment has been pretty high in Georgia for the last 6 years but I do not know of a single person that was not on the edge of retirement anyway that has not been able to find workable employment quickly.

Budget resolution - H.Con.Res.96
The House is scheduled to consider the Budget Committees Fiscal Year 2015 budget resolution this week.
I would start the process by de-funding the IRS and DOJ.
Don't talk to me that way buddy

Simon Says, Dipshits Do

Hardly a smoking gun, or something that is surprising.  The White House has its pipeline, and it is to the news service that most people ignore.

I spent some time last week checking out Mia Farrow's son.  It is hardly a shock that they don't know who his father is, no man would claim the dumb bastard as his own.

Concealed Carry Laws Not the Reason for Sharp Drop in Chicago Murders

So says the Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy...

Yes, all of a sudden the police force got a lot better. Well bud, nobody with any common sense agrees with you. People said it would happen, you resisted all the way to the Supreme Court, twice, and lost, twice.  Now that citizens can defend themselves from being easy pickings, the number of murders has dropped and you take the credit while continuing to deny the obvious.
All that is left now, is for the Chicago politicians to figure another trick to again remove the right restored, and when the rates start climbing again, we can hold Chicago up yet again as the shining example of progressive ignorance.

It Has Always Been That Way

The Patriot Post had this quote to offer today, a fitting description of the Affordable Care Act.....
"It will be of little avail to the people, that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man, who knows what the law is to-day, can guess what it will be to-morrow. Law is defined to be a rule of action; but how can that be a rule, which is little known, and less fixed?"

A Jim Mora Moment

When I see Democrats talk about a budget, I want to have my own little meltdown. Yes a public curse laden meltdown.  BUDGET, BUDGET you want to ask me about our BUDGET? The damned Democratic Senate has not voted on a budget since the current President assumed office.  This is the latest email received from the White House.....
Weekly Address: The President's Budget Ensures Opportunity for All Hardworking Americans
In this week's address, the President highlighted the important differences between the budget he's put forward -- built on opportunity for all -- and the budget House Republicans are advocating for, which stacks the deck against the middle class.
While the President is focused on building lasting economic security and ensuring that hardworking Americans have the opportunity to get ahead, Republicans are advancing the same old top-down approach of cutting taxes for the wealthiest Americans and slashing important investments in education, infrastructure, and research and development.
Republicans to try to propose budgets that will appease the progressives of the Democratic party. Democrats complain about "top down" Republican strategies designed to cushion the lives of the wealthiest persons (presumably Democrats). The Democrats also always complain that the Republicans slash money for education, destroy infrastructure plans ans thwart research intended to make the lives of welfare mothers better.  When the President brings up the subject of BUDGET, the persons in whatever room he is at should be run like they've been exposed to Ebola.  Run because the next words that are about to come out of his mouth will be misleading dishonest lies.

Lets talk about some of the President's comments on the back end.
Top down tax cutting: The president does not believe in tax cuts of any sort; he is instead in favor of providing support in grant form to industries that are premature in development. I remind you of Solyndra.
Wealthiest Americans: The income gap has significantly grown in the last 6 years, this is because the Fed is providing cheap money that the banks are not loaning, money is overheating the stock market.
Investments in Education: What the hell does that mean anyway, what has the President done for education in the last years, dump on NCLB?
Investments in Infrastructure:  When he was spreading out the TARP pile he talked incessantly about shovel ready jobs, few of which ever materializes because shovel ready jobs would require the approval of the environmental wing of the progressives who got him elected.  Heck, even the Keystone Pipeline, a private capital venture has been block with bureaucratic nonsense.
Investments in R&D:  Lets look at the ACA, by itself investment in medical research is coming to a screeching halt. In other businesses you see corporation holding back on applying capital reserves, stagnating the economy to less than 2% annual growth rate.
BUDGET!
BUDGET!
give me a break
