Now I do not know about all of that, but I do know that the majority of Christians that I know do not practice proselytism. If you did not know them you would not know their religion. It seems that much of the blame Christianity takes is because of minority vocal proponents. Mind you that while those proponents may be verbally obscene, they are rarely advocates of force in any manner.
Regardless, we have agnostics and atheists that take Christian words and equate them to acts of physical and fiscal violence currently practiced by other religions. This is the logical leap of a person that cannot win an argument an argument on causality and effect. Christianity, at this time in history, is a largely benevolent reformed religion, that advocates strength in defense of oppression.
It's fine to detest the words of people you do not agree with, but not an excuse to judge as and equivalent to acts of violence including murder.
